Scheduling a Google Hangouts Meet

In the coming weeks, Google will be re-branding Hangouts Meet to Google Meet. This naming change will not impact the instructions in this article or functionality of Google Meet.

Step 1

Log into Gmail and go to Google Calendar (https://calendar.google.com)

Step 2

Click the Create button

Step 3

On the popup box, click the More options button

Step 4

On the details screen, fill in the following information:

  • Event title
  • Meeting Date
  • Meeting Start and Stop time

If the meeting start and stop time options are not available, uncheck the All day checkbox.  This will enable the start and stop time drop down menus.

Step 5

On the details screen, fill in the following information:

  • Event title
  • Meeting Date
  • Meeting Start and Stop time

Step 6

Once you have created the calendar item and enabled the Hangouts Meet option, click the blue Save button

Accessing your meetings

To access your Hangouts Meet, go to https://meet.google.com.  Your upcoming meetings will be shown under the Join or start a meeting option.
